Our Times

Jamie came up with the idea for Times in a remote part of Iceland when he sat on his sunglasses and broke the arm off. Being a resourceful guy he found a piece of elastic, attached it to each end of the frame to make a loop and Times was born.

Over 2 years of design and development followed, perfecting every aspect of the sunglasses until they were ready. These patent pending sunglasses use a flexible strap that holds them securely on your face but also becomes a neck strap when the sun goes in. The really clever bit is that they fold flat so you can wear them under your jacket or t-shirt when not in use and can forget they're there!

    Tom is a product designer and owner of the UK consultancy Aetha Design based on the South Coast. Before starting the consultancy, Tom was a Senior Design Engineer at Dyson working on home electronics products including robotic and battery powered vacuum cleaners.

    Jamie is a world renowned videographer and photographer splitting his time between Costa Rica and the UK South Coast. Jamie came up with the idea for Times in a remote part of Iceland when he sat on his sunglasses and broke the arm off. Being a resourceful chap he found a piece of elastic, attached it to each end of the frame to make a loop and Times was born.

Times solve the problem of broken and lost sunglasses.  The flexible hinge folds easily so you can sit on them and they just spring back! Every part can be replaced without tools so you can keep going whatever. Say no to non repairable products. 

With conventional sunglasses, once the hinge is broken, the sunglasses can't be easily repaired and more often than not end up in landfill contributing to our climate crisis.

All Times sunglasses are manufactured in a family owned factory just outside of Milan. They only use premium sustainable materials and even the factory is 100% run on renewable solar energy from the factory roof.

They have been independently owned since 1973 and have built a reputation for quality, personally inspecting every pair before they leave the factory.
